Andromeda Contest Entry

Alright! It's finally done! The biggest project I've ever tackled on this sight, one piece wise, is done! It combined the two things I hate to draw for contest, crazy manes and gradients (why do I do this to myself). Anyways, I'm defiantly not going to win and I knew this going in because anything that has orbites or any species by SuperNovaSplash on it is bound to attract every since mlp artist from around DA and that's pretty awesome! I just had an idea and was like "why not". Orbites and pretty interesting and beautiful, but I like characters and history so not my favorite species, though she's a beauty, I just had to draw her.

Since she has no character from what I've seen, I just thought up a picture idea. Since she has stars are her theme, I thought why not have her retrieve a fallen star? So I drew her in this plane of stardom or whatever and had her retrieve this little ball of light.

This took me forever to do. Line art took me a week to get to with school and all, basic coloring in a day, extra details today, all day. I'm super happy with the results and I'm very proud of this piece. Note that gradients are difficult for me on this program, there is not opacity tool so everything, and I mean, everything is done with meticulous work. I also remembered I had photoshop so I made a background and it helped with the extra little details.
